The Audacity of Laughter
A Poem
The Gods stand as one at their loom
and weave together threads of light.
A multi-dimensional tapestry that converges
on a single point.
Now, it says.
We’ve been preparing lifetimes for this moment.
The same is true, of course, for every moment.
And as all we’ve known comes undone I tell you,
Even as you gnash your teeth and raise your fist to the heavens,
That God does not make mistakes.
This moment is woven into the tapestry of time
From threads that have stretched from before the burst of anything
Into the vast nothingness we call the universe.
All points converge to now.
An orgasmic rupture in the ripple of humanity,
Lifetimes and lifetimes we’ve circled
To prepare for this awakening.
I sit unbound and hear from deep within
The unmistakable rumble of laughter
Pealing forth like joyful
Bells on Christmas morning.
